Who Are We?
We are Chuck & Angie, the founders of Victory View Ministries, Inc. and two people who fell in love back in 2014 after talking for hours on our first date about our love of God and the passion for ministry that he had put in our hearts. Chuck saw his daughter saved from drug addiction where she went in one year from "this is a church and you've violated my constitutional rights" to "I just want to live my life for Jesus" and that journey fueled his passion for ministry to addicts and parents of addicts. For 20 years, Angie has followed her passion for creating opportunities at weekend retreats for women to dedicate time to grow deeper in relationship with the Lord and with other women. At retreats, you can walk in as strangers and walk out as friends.
We love putting on our God-glasses and seeing the world the way we think God might see it. It so clear to us that God knew exactly what he was doing when he put the two of us together!
Our First God Glasses Story For You
Angie hosted and taught at many women's retreats held at a cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia that is the retreat home of Henry & Judy Wade through their ministry, Heart 2 Heart Ministries (www.heart2heartministries.org). Not long after Chuck and Angie started dating, Henry & Judy were facing struggles with drug addiction with a family member. Angie connected them with Chuck for advice and encouragement, and Boom, a bond is made between the four of us that is rock solid and unshakeable.

And we are just getting started. (I promise I'll just hit the highlights for brevity's sake, but I hope it will leave you wanting more details.)
Our friendship with the Wades deepened as we served on Henry & Judy's non-profit ministry board for three years. In 2020, God gave us a vision to start our own retreat ministry when an 8-acre property with a lake literally around the corner from our business became available. Chuck had driven by this property for over 25 years on his cut-through-the-neighborhood route to KFC or Wendy's for lunch and was intrigued by the glimpses of water he would occasionally catch. But in all those years, in no way shape or form had he ever thought about trying to own it. Until he did.
Angie has a lot of real estate experience and has bought, renovated, and sold quite a few homes, and she had just finished a renovation project and didn't even want to entertain the idea of another one. Until she did.
And Boom...we end up standing on the front porch of this house when the vision just became so clear.
We left the Wade's board to pursue this vision, knowing full well that all that experience on their board was not by accident, but by divine planning, so we would be equipped for this next season of our lives. Is the God fingerprint coming more into focus?
The Vision
In February of 2020, on a snow-covered afternoon standing on the front porch, God revealed to us how this place could be a day retreat center where people who can't get away for a whole weekend, could just get away for a few hours to commune with God in nature...in the middle of the city! We are literally within walking distance to the Big Chicken. We couldn't be any closer to our business or any closer to a busy metropolis and yet have this oasis of a nature preserve where you can hear the birds chirping, see the bass jumping, and observe the geese waddling. We said Yes to God that day. We could see it. We know our community needs it. And we could see how God had equipped us to do it. The story of the property acquisition is a whole other God story, so we will save that for another day. Can we just say, what God originates He orchestrates! Not even COVID lockdowns hitting the week before we were scheduled to close could stop it. That's one way we know God's hand is all over this.
And that's how Victory View Ministries began. It's been a three-year property restoration labor of love to get us here. And we are just getting started. Now you are invited to join us on the rest of this journey.

Plus, I'm sure some interesting facts or tidbits or project updates or musings or other fun things we get our hands into will sneak their way into a post every now and again.
